Absoloutely not. Im a medical consultant, trust me i’ve seen first hand curing cancer is nothing more then the dreams of madmen, much like the dream of coldfusion or space travel, all technologies only accesable in an age our generation will not see.

Looking optimisticly there have been treatments to catch most cancers out if they are caught eartly(say, in the first three or forth months) but otherwise there have been no developments in treating cancer effeciently without wasting years of the patients life after it has proggessed from beginning as a tumour to multiple systems infection.

To say that most cancers have a 50% survival rate is just a generalization and I have no idea if it is accurate or not. It is going to depend upon the particular cancer and its stage when treatment started.

My wife is a 3 year pancreatic cancer survivor who now is as healthy as I am. Yet the “average” pancreatic cancer survival rate is less than a year.
