Honda or Kawasaki.

I would take either but if I has a choice take the Honda.

well my mates got a yamaha dt 125x. its a pretty good bike, ive ridden it and its very easy to come to terms with. but with a 2 stroke you will have to keep up with the servicing and checks, especially if you plan to take it off the road and up the mountains.
also with his DT theres a ton of things you can do to make it that little bit faster after you get used to it!

Personally, I think you should think about getting a 4-stroke for your first bike. 2-strokes are VERY snappy on the throttle so I would start off with like a Yamaha TTR-125L(My bike) or something like a Honda 150, just something with a 4-stroke. Feel free to get a 2-stroke, I’m just saying 4-strokes are a lot easier to learn on. Oh, by the way yes, a 125 is a great size to start out on 2 or 4 stroke.

Yamaha is the best 125 2stroke in my opinion. We need more info on you to tell you a best bike for you, height, weight, experience, etc.

Husqvarna WR125 are top of the 125 tree.

They are aimed at experienced riders, for a novice a Yamaha would be a better buy.
