Question by : What can I do to help my dog that I think had a stroke or seizure?
I have a schnauzer. She has been ill and has been to the vet. I have her at home but she had a stroke or seizure tonight. I dont know what to do for her. She is going to the vet in the morning. Her breathing is labored and she is just laying here. She has gotten up twice to drink water but no other activity. Can any one help with ideas or what I should do to help her?

Answer by EssJay Ö Think before you breed
Sorry, cannot help, we are not vets and obviously cannot diagnose from this information.
If you are seriously worried, then ring the emergency vet number and speak to your vet before the morning. # Good luck with your dog.

My parents have a pomeranian with epilepsy and she has seizures every now and then. If they catch one they put her on a soft surface so she doesn’t hurt herself and pet her until it passes. Of course go to the vet and they’ll prob tell you more specifics of what to do.

Well if this was my dog there’s NO WAY I’d be leaving her to die. Any more than I’d be on here asking this question.

    EMERGENCY VET

If her breathing is labored and she’s just laying there, she cannot wait until you take her to the vet later. The only way you can help her, is to take her to an Emergency Vet NOW! There is nothing that you can do for her at home. The longer you wait, the worse she will get. Please get off your computer and GO!

    Hi,

If your dog is having a seizure, try to remain calm. Don’t try to pick him up or you may be bitten. Remember, he is unaware of you and of his surroundings. This is a medical emergency! If you observe these symptoms, get your dog to the veterinarian immediately! Here’s more info:
