Question by Refti: is there a way to turn a stroke into a shape in Illustrator?
when i do a line with a stroke of say 30, then i make it bigger, it appears thinner, obviously. Is there any option in Illustrator to make it into a shape, so when the size is adjusted it remains the same?

There are two solutions –
1. select the line you draw and double click on scale tool in toolbox then in the scale dialog box “check the option – scale stroke and effects”.
This is better solution to your problem because after this when you will scale down the line it’s stroke width will scale down in proportion & vice versa.
2. As you want to convert it in shape(object) then –
go to Object Menu > Expand – ok
after expand command you can’t increase/decrease storke width of line from stroke palette.
