Hard to say. It depends a lot on her medical history. If she has had high blood pressure for a long time that can damage the heart. If the stroke is her first symptom there may not be much damage.

It would take a fairly full evaluation to know for sure.

I am sorry. Physical therapy, speech therapy are key to recovery. Some people can recover fast, others take longer. It would seem like maybe if there were other health issues too. It can take weeks for speech to come back, but it can come back. The benefit of this generation is that we have phones to text with and dry erase boards and things like that to communicate with until things get back to normal. Be a cheerleader for her, the more people cheer you on, the more you are likely to try harder to recover faster. Be strong for her. Peace be with you.

    Define MILD.
Stroke is not as bad as a Heart Attack.
Speech and Body movement are effected by nerve damage and can be brought back with therapy.

A stroke takes place in the brain, a blood vessel breaks and blood leaks into the brain tissue and kills the cells, or a blood vessel clogs which stops the blood supply to the brain tissue which kills the cells.
If the blood clot or ruptured vessel was in the heart, it would be a myocardial infarction aka heart attack. A stroke does not happen in the heart but if someone has clotting blood or weak vessels, it could affect their heart at some time…
