Question by notoriouskater14: How do you fix a 4 stroke muffler to stop being so smokey because its burning to much oil?
My 4 stroke pitbike is smoky when i rev the engine and the exhast makes a funny noise when i shift down gears. I no its burning a little to much oil because of the smoke and there is alot of residue on the inside of the pipe.

Mufflers don’t burn oil….engines do. The only way to stop the smoke is to fix the engine. The residue is from the engine.

    It’s not the muffler that needs fixed. The engine is burning oil due to bad rings, piston, cylinder, or valve guides.

    It’s not the muffler Muppet. Most likely you need rings or more.
