How do I keep my knees together for this stroke?

Question by dmo888: How do I keep my knees together for this stroke?
I don’t know what the stroke is called. But my swimming coach told me that I had to keep my knees together and constantly do a snapping movement, sadly, I can’t keep my knees together.

try practicing the kick with a pull buoy between your thighs. it helps keep your knees together.

I think the stroke you mean is butterfly. I had trouble with my knees too but what you could do is buy a float called a pullbuoy, or just use a normal float. You pop it between your legs and squeeze them together just enough so the float doesn’t pop out. Do some lengths of the ‘snapping’ and you will get used to it. Hope i helped and happy swimming 🙂

You don’t need to keep your knees together to the point where they’re touching, just close enough. Your coach should be able to help you with this.. otherwise get a better coach.
