I want to add a 2nd stroke (outline) to a vector. How do I accomplish this?

In Illustrator: select your path. Go to: Object>>>Path>>>Offset Path>>>enter amount (if the path is closed, a positive number will add a line OUTSIDE the original path while a negative number will add a line INSIDE the original path. If the path is NOT closed, positive or negative won’t make a difference)>>>Click “OK.”
In Photoshop: make your selection. Go to: Select>>>Modify>>>Expand/Contract (makes larger/makes smaller)>>>enter amount (you can go up to 100 pixels)>>>Click “OK.” NOTE: Photoshop miters corners with 45° angles (not unless they’ve added an option for that in CS4 or CS5).
